2011 GL 440 Stiff Accelerator
#26
So I took your advice and pushed the accelerator all the way to the floor. A couple of times. I wasn’t able to feel the detent you’re talking about. But I did notice when I started the car and put it in drive, the acceleration was good. It felt smooth and didn’t get stiff at all.
I drove it to a store and when I got back in, I did that again - don’t know what the heck I’m doing 🙂. Then drove home. It was was smooth and accelerated normally.
What does that tell you?

I didn’t notice that. Was I doing it correctly? Should I hold it there? And why would that seemingly help the problem I was having? Am I supposed to be doing this before I start the car? Because that’s what I did.

Why did it fix the problem? Because I'm a genius and you're magical! Nah, it probably just dislodged whatever was in there... or at least moved it to a different spot and it will reappear at a later time

The click/detent is definitely there. It's just before the pedal is as far as it will go. Try doing it slower/smoother.

Thank you again. Y’all have become my new best friends.

Best thread ever, because it’s not something we see that often. 90% of posts seem to be about why is my left wheel sagging down, should I change my valve block. We thank you for your eloquence and responsiveness.
