2011 GL 350
Hello I have a 2011 MB GL 350 Blue Tec withb109k miles. The issue I'm having I believe is something electrical or system miscommunication. Out of no where the information cluster goes crazy it lights up like a Christmas tree flash all different signals on and off like ABS, ESP, Pre safe operative, Brake lights, Malfunction, SRS light, Check Engine light, Wipers start going off, RPM needle starts jumping up and down,. Then The car will not want to shift into neutral or park or reverse. I just have to turn it off. Then it won't turn on for a while. And then when it does turn back on it's like as if nothing ever happened.
any advice on what can be the issue? Took to dealership and they were no help.

What did they check/verify at the dealership?
Could be things like a failing battery, bad/corroded connections (at the battery or underhood, including grounds), SAM, etc.

Dealership found nothing only recommended to change the battery which they did, the only reason battery died was because the the light on dash will not turn off

Rear Sam Unit.
I would start with the rear Sam unit. Open up your rear hatch and on the passenger side remove the fuse door. Reach under and feel for water or dampness.. the rear taillights can leak. If you feel dampness .. disconnect the battery and tear into the Rear Sam looking for corrosion etc.

What "light on the dash won't turn off"? I didn't see that you mentioned that anywhere? The flashing/crazy light show is not the issue - that is the result of an issue.

Location of Front Sam
On my 2008 GL under the Driver seat is the Radio Power Amp and definitely a strong possibility of water. My front Sam is near the battery under the passenger seat.

But wait, there’s more under your driver seat - and it might not be the sam. It could be any and all of the modules or busbars that control power to all the units that are malfunctioning.
You say strong possibility of water, I would think there’s water there and those electronics are compromised.

Water under driver seat LHD
True, front Sam is under the passenger seat in an LHD vehicle.

some people garage their benzes and don’t drive them in the rain, if you are to believe the average Facebook marketplace ad for a rotten r107 that “just needs a fuel pump or new battery not sure”.

There are apparently four vulnerable points: Roof rack mounts, sunroof seals and drains, panoramic roof seals, and taillight seals.
