Tires

Would like to hear some different opinions on tires and what brands/models have gotten some decent miles .
We have tried a few different brands .. Have used 3 sets of Yokohama’s and they definitely have a nice ride but for the money would like to get close to 40k miles but have NOT yet. We just put a 70k mile set of Pirelli’s on a ML350 and at 10k they look great..
Has any one used a set of 275/55R19 Hankook DynaPro HP2 RA33 ? Or any Hankook models? I found some great pricing and heard a few complaints about road noise?
I took off my 21” wheels on both GL550’s and went with 19”… with all the dirt roads and out of state driving
I do with my bird hunting after getting a flat in the middle of nowhere I decided I wanted 19”’so I could have some sidewalls and buy a tire if needed.
Thanks for any replies

I have Conti`s on it currently at 133K miles. Extreme Contact DWS, they came with the car back in November 2022 when I bought the vehicle, at 105K miles, they were already about 50 or 60% back then.
With the exception of 8K miles (because I put the winter tires on) I think I can still make this summer with them, even next one. I noticed the letter S disappeared on all of them but D and W are still there pretty good.
After that I don`t really know how much I would invest on the rubber to be honest, either spend the money and go with Contis or Michelin or go with cheaper option. Since they are 21s they are pricey. Time will tell I guess.
To answer your question, I have no clue when those tires were put on the vehicle but remembering the wear back then, they should be there a good 20K miles. And they are still quiet, I`m happy with them generally and good grip.

Goodyear Wrangler A/T (Con Kevlar(TM)) on 18"s. On my second set now, first lasted 50k/5 yrs and I can't be happier with these. Go anywhere tires that are quiet on road.

That’s really impressive… I have read quite a few tire write-ups and 50k is not easy to achieve ! thanks
unfortunately they don’t make them in 19” .. dang it.

I just sourced a set of 18s on CL for next to nothing. 19s are harder to find tready tires in.

Hankook DynaPro HP2 RA33 tires are known for offering decent comfort and performance at a competitive price, but they can be prone to road noise as the tread wears. If noise is a concern and durability is key, you might want to consider options like the Michelin Defender LTX M/S or the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus, both of which are known for longevity and quiet performance. Your move to 19” wheels for better sidewall protection is wise for dirt roads and remote hunting trips.

Firestone Destinations

By far the whitest smoothest ride yet. I have tried quite a few different brands on my 164’s… Yokohamas , Pirelli’s and by Far the Firestone’s are extremely quite and were quite reasonable . Highly recommend trying a set

Two months old, for me, 2012 X164 came on half worn, 20" Bridgestone Duelers. Horrible tire. Still have them but swapped out to Nokia Hakka winter tires. New, old stock set on eBay for sub $500 and what a difference. The Nokia's are better in just about every way. Beautiful set.
