Backs work so you at least know there is power. So I'd assume its just a broken wire, so simple as something not plugged in. Maybe somebody pushed something under the seat and just unplugged the connection??
I had an old Audi that the sensor for the weight of the passenger was broken so the seat wouldn't turn on (just a broken wire, simple fix). If everything looks fine under the seat, you are going to have to pull it apart to investigate further.
