2014 S550 - SOLD, 2014 GL550 - SOLD, 2014 GL63 AMG, 2015 S63 AMG Sedan, 2015 S63 AMG Coupe
I think its a waste to have all the options and not have designo. The price is close to $110 and its still lacking the extra luxury that designo could have given. It has the B&O but I cannot get past the lack of designo. I would have picked designo over B&O.

The question was asked what it doesn't have... and frankly, the eBay auction like this is designed to catch buyers thru circumstance are willing to pay over MSRP, and the sellers hope to cartch someone really willing to pay way over..

Of course it is - export snapped it up, or like you originally said, someone who wanted to buy now and not wait.. hope it wasn't export, since the originating dealer will get fined $17K-$22K if they didn't cover their butt at Hoffman Estates.

How would MB know the car was exported (If this GL was bought for export)? Why would the dealer be fined since the dealer does not have any control over what the buyer does once the car is sold?

It's highly discouraged for MB dealers to sell the cars to a buyer who will export/ sell directly overseas on brand new models. This is because there's a strong demand for our cars elsewhere and the US also has the lowest prices on luxury cars worldwide.
If an MB dealer is caught exporting a car overseas or selling to a buyer who will export within X months then the dealer will get fined and if it keeps happening, their franchise could be taken away from them.
Sometimes when you buy a car the dealer makes you sign a paper promising you won't export it and that's how the dealer gets their butt covered.
