Active blind spot/Active lane keeping assist is already in current production vehicles. The other systems are slated to premier in the flagship line along with some other goodies, 222 S class.

Great videos. Thanks cookstar.
I am not sure how many of these will be on the 2014 GL class. I would hate to wait for the 2014 and not have these.

The active blind stop and active lane keeping assist have been updated for 2014 and are not new systems, I'll see if I can dig up the 2007 to 2013 version for comparison and list the differences.Originally Posted by MBtech1098

Edit: The update to the system is explained at 0:39 ( I dont think the 2013 version has this feature)

Nothing definitive from MB yet but my assumption is that if its on the E class it will be on the Gl as well.Originally Posted by sam9187

Correct prior to 2011 there was no "active" blind spot or lane keeping. However those "active" systems are unchanged for 2014. The first three videos are new technology however. Basically we are taking all signals reported to the SGR (radar sensor control unit) and doing a lot more with them.

so would you say that at the 1:05 mark where it shows the back sensor as well, would that be an update? I dont recall reading anything like that appearing on the Ml or GL for 2012-2013?Originally Posted by MBtech1098

Sorry, that part I believe is new. I was thinking more in terms of the "active" functions. I will try to remember to look I to that more at work tomorrow.

I'm an electrical engineer, so I'm preconditioned to be attracted to this AMAZING technology to keep us and other's safe. It seems like MB has really kicked technology up a notch in recent years. Keep up the good work!
Now if they could only figure out a purpose for the NightView Assist I have on my 2013.

Mercedes continues to expand features on these systems - as they MB needs to add refinements to differentiate/upgrade from the safety systems they sell to other manufacturers.
For my comment - regarding the "updated" active blind spot assist adds flashing warning even if you use your turn signal - using turn signals with "current" active blind spot cancels the entire warning system.

I have updated information as my previous info was partially incorrect so I appogize for the confusion. I have reviewed some WIS documents regarding the functional descriptions of active blind spot/lane keeping assist along with the dealer ordering guide. There seems to be a change when the enhanced driver assistance systems will be released. Upon initial training we were advised that it would premier in the 222, however after my review it seems it will be released with the 212 redesign. Note: that code 997 (23P) driver assistance package will have delayed availability.
The current iteration of the active system functional description in WIS shows to be valid only until February 28, 2013. So I can only assume that this is when the new systems go into production.
(This is all referring to the 212 FYI)

So would this mean that the GL built after February 28th 2013 will have this update, you mentioned 212 which I assume is the redesigned E class?
Not sure if the update refers to 212 or every MB that you can equip with these features built after February 28th 2013?

Yes the 212 is the re-designed E class (the Germans dislike the word facelift). Regarding the GL there is currently not enough info to say for certain, but you can plan to see those features soon in the GL. Originally Posted by cookstar

Basically we will see this first the E, then the S, and then other models will follow suit.
