Radar Detectors that Integrate.
Was wondering if anyone had installed a radar detector in the new GL that would integrate and use the voice command system? Just got my 2013 GL550 and need some more toys for it.
Thanks

I don't have any comments on your question but I would like to see some pictures of your 550. (I have a 550 on order due in May)

Don't know of any that will do that.... however, I do have the Escort 9500iX Passport detector that is probably the most "intelligent" of the detectors available. The only downside is, as with most, the power cord and the suction cup window mount, however, i found that with my new GL450....it is fairly unobtrusive.

Before you invest too much time or money, I'd make sure it works properly before hard-wiring it or integrating it too much. I have a 2009 GL550 and apparently the glass is/was a bit different on the 550. My Valentine will not sense any bogeys from the front. Only the side and rear. I've double checked it with my other valentine unit in my other car and even sent it back and the unit is fine. The glass is either "IR" glass or "blue" glass. whatever it is, it doesn't work. Some have suggested a "sweet spot" somewhere on the glass, but I haven't found it.
Just FYI.
