It’s probably a good upgrade but probably people need to be more careful. I sometime leave my car keys in the cup holder (particularly when wearing tight fit trousers)... wonder whether it will damage the keys if I accidentally switch on the holders!

I thought I had read somewhere on this site that heated cupholders and Keyless-Go could not be combined in the same car for that very risk.

Just received my 2014 GL 350 and have the keyless go and the heated/cooled cup holders. They can both be combined. There is a switch to turn them on or off, and not the easy to really hit by accident so think you're good. They also light up so you know they are on.

I got my GL350 today
this is a very "cool" feature
it is fairly shallow but kept my short bottle of water cool

I was disappointed when my GL did not arrive with this feature. I have Keyless-GO, so maybe that is why. I have the premium pkg.

got the part (MERCEDES 2014 BLACK HEATED COOLED CUP HOLDER 1666804814)today to try to retrofit into my 2103 gl450. I'll let you know how it goes. first step is to figure out how to take out the existing. Cant seem find any instructions anywhere so I'll need to stumble through it a bit.

I have this feature on my '14. I suppose it's nice, but it doesn't seem to make that big a difference. I frequently don't even use it. Retrofitting it really isn't worth the expense and trouble.

Takes time to cool and heat - probably good on long distant travels.

Nynd-can you please let me know how you did the wiring for the cup holders. I installed the cup holders was able to connect the cigarette lighter wiring but I don't see the wiring for the cup holders. I thought all GL had the same wiring loom but not....did you splice to another wire? can you get heated cupholder wiring from the dealer? Thanks

Heated/cooled cupholders ML350

Hi there, would you be able to describe how you put in the heated/cooled cupholders for your ML and approximately how much it cost. First time on this board. Thanks
