Not for short drives but longer drives I am sure they perform better to cool or warm. It’s not going to make a hot drink ice cold, but will slow ice melt and keep cool longer.

As my buddy is always quick to tear the car down I didn't get pics of all the screws but the PDF diagram posted earlier shows them just fine I think.
Out of the car and taking it apart, again he did this pretty quickly. Certainly helps when you buddy builds them at the factory and can do this pit stop style.
Checking the wires to the diagram to re-pin.
All done!!!
Wiring diagram. I didn't take the pics of the exact wire as he did it but you can use the below to create and pin the existing harness to save on the new harness if desired. I think he wants to clean up a few things so I might get a chance to get some detailed pics of the re-wired/pinned harness.
Super fancy MB crimping tool. Yep I had this installed literally professionally by a the same man who likely built it in 2012 using Benz tools, at HOME!!

It is not meant to heat or cool liquids. It is more meant to keep them at a constant temp. Either keep them hot or keep them cold.

Part number will vary based on color trim you have for the roll back cover. You can easily swap over existing cover so just need to find any set of cup holders you want for a price you are willing to pay. eBay is where most of us have purchased our set.
Here is a set

My buddy just came by and installed mine. Will post up a few pics in the next few days. Installed pretty easy and didn’t use the mentioned wire harness as he works at the factory and had the wire diagram and was able to pin my existing harness. I have the wire diagram to post. Oh and a pic of the crazy expansive tool they use on harnesses.

2013 GL 450
Just got mine installed. All in I paid $360 for wire harness and found a nice console off of eBay for $280. In my opinion the best upgrade you can do to your GL if you are missing this option.
