I am having a laser jammer installed next week and the front license plate surround is the installers preferred location. There was a one piece mount in the storage area of my GL63 (see photo where I set it in place) but unless I am missing another part the plate would not be on a flat surface. If that is the case it won't work for the jammer.

 

Why don't they mount it behind the mesh grille? That's where a lot of installers like to do a hidden install and not have it on the frame of the license plate.

 

The laser jammer can't go behind the mesh. We are going to put in under the cross bar. One on each side.

 

laser jammer can absolutely go behind the mesh. what brand laser jammer are you installing? that front license plate does not belong on a GL 63

K40 does seem to be outdated (what I have on my car). Most installers in my area prefer the Escort passport 9500xi.
