LOL on the IF comment. I am not a huge fan of the interior of the Q7 and it has far less room in the third row than the GL class. I do like the exterior of the Q7 and will look at it once again. Last time I looked a Q7 prestige TDI is around mid 70's so in that case better to spend a little more and get the GL with more room, newer design, nicer interior.

Are the standard headlights halogens or xenons? I see the lighting pkg adds bi-xenon, curve illumination, and auto high beams. I only see this being worth it if the standard lights are just halogens. Otherwise save the money if they are indeed standard xenons?

Agreed, the lighting package is a must have on the GL.

RE: the Q7, I liked that vehicle when we were looking to change out the 2007 GL450, but I couldn't live with the headroom of the 2nd and 3rd rows for adults. If the 2015 gives headroom to the Q7 it would be an excellent option vs the GL.

Agree on Q7. Space inside is pretty tight especially in 3rd row. Also, Its going for a major refresh next year hence buying a brand new at this time would not be a good idea when it comes to resale.

Alright so what you folks think: new GL350 ordered to spec for $500 over invoice (good price right?) plus $2k fleet discount, or a used CPO 2013 GL450 with 13,700 miles, color combo I very much like, all options I like (except it doesn't have distronic unfortunately) for $61k. Original MSRP was $80k on the CPO 450...

Fellow Punjabi here. FWIW I was in the same predicament few weeks ago. In the end I went with a new 350BTC. I couldn't find many GL450s with options and specs that I wanted close to where I live or in the price range I wanted. Most out there are with MBTex and are very lightly specced. In the end the difference was coming close to 10K. For 10K I would rather have my wife enjoy the new car smell (she always wanted a mercedes and this is our first ), better mileage and potentially a better resale value. In the end its a personal choice and you can justify it either way.

Re-sale value between the 350 and 450 is something to weigh in. But at the same time, the unlimited mile warranty on the CPO may be beneficial if you put miles on?

Buy new or you'll be sorry. I bought a CPO lease return of 29,000 mi. found out the previous owner filled up at very dirty diesel stations or neglected vehicle. Worse, MBUSA blames me the current owner, refuses to help. Had to replace the entire fuel system at 40,000mi, insurance paid but I'm sure my premiums will go up. Don't expect a whole lot of loyalty or customer service from MBUSA. Once they have your money, you are pretty much on your own.
