Camera not coming on

Is there a way to accidentally disable the backup camera? My vehicle also has surround view if that makes any difference? Put the car in reverse and nothing happens. Cycled the ignition and that didn't make a difference.

Thanks in advance.

If your head unit is off than the camera wont come up. Your head unit has to be on first.

This happened to ours once too. First weekend we had it. I couldn't figure it out either. It was after I loaded up some stuff in the trunk. Later after unloading it started working again. No problems since. I'm thinking maybe we had something in the back blocking something when the rear closed and we unblocked it once we unloaded. That's all I could think of.

So try opening the rear. Rearrange anything in the back (floor mat, etc) and close it back. Good luck.

Vehicle sat overnight and this morning the cameras magically started working again.

There is a software update you can get for black screen camera problems.

Ours too! On the second or third night and never again!
I lost my front camera during a rainstorm and it fixed itself shortly after.

I read about it on this forum somewhere I think last year. I had the cameras-not-working-just-black-screen problem on my 2014 a couple times, brought it in and asked about this software update and they did it on mine.

Mine did that once. I had 10k service and was told everything was up to date. But I guess that doesn't necessarily apply to fixes and I didn't mention this problem.

I had this happen recently. Turned it 'off' thinking I was just turning off the radio, and the camera didn't go on.
So how do you turn off the radio? Just turn it all the way down? (brain freeze, I'm sure there's something I'm missing)

No you are not! The on off button is not for radio. It's for comand. You can mute the radio or switch to other audio sources, but cannot turn it off independent of the whole comand system.
