GL63 removed from MBUSA.com

I came on to see any news about the 2015 GL63 because my lease on my 550 is ending and was looking at the difference between the 2015 550 and 63, which one I favor.
Since when did this thread get hijacked and start talking about the 2016 GL?

The differences between the 14s and 15s is minimal. The difference between a 63 and a 550 is monumental.
The 63 has 95% of the available options included in the price. Leather everywhere, all of the safety features, truly a premium product.
Mechanically on the performance side.... Massive brakes allowing the car to stop within 7ft of what a last generation corvette would...a point and shoot capability that is beyond belief.. One ride around an off ramp and I could put your face on the side window!
On the downside... It eats gas...you will see averages of 13 vs. 17 for my old 550.... You have to pay to play.
Other things to consider....
You have to have dedicated snows. No ifs ands or buts! The car has a fixed 40/60 torque split to deal with the massive torque. A 550/450 has 4matic that is much more variable in how it transfers power to slipping wheels.. So the 450/550 is perfectly serviceable with all season tires.
I have winter scorpion tires and I have driven in 16inch blizzards with no problems... In fact, the 63 drives more like a dirt track racer with a definite rear wheel bias that is balanced. The 550 pulls you through the same snow (much like a front wheel drive or should I say more like a tank and less "spirit"). That is the purpose of 4matic to make the poor weather conditions transparent.
So I hope this has been helpful in making a decision about the 63/550 question...pm directly if you have any questions.

No one hi-jacked the thread. The conversation moved in the direction of speculating about possible changes to the GL63 since it was removed from the web site. Until MB puts the GL63 back on their web site, there is little more to discuss in that regard.

The gas part I don't care since I drive trucks that eat gas all the time, haha.
The 550 I have at the moment doesn't sound as great as my 2013 Escalade Platinum. I was looking towards the 63 in terms of power and exhaust note.
The Pirelli's Scorpions are definitely out because I nearly wrecked after the tires wore off after 36k and blew the alignment. I like the Contis so far and gives a better ride, imo. I live in FL, so snow is not an issue.
Thanks for the help man. I still have time to decide.

Btw... I never expect more than 18k on a set of tires... And I have had everything that would fit the 21 inch wheel... I kinda liked the P Zero.
