Some of them have already been produced (in fact I have the VIN for my 2015).
They won't be released until late Sept or October.
They don't seem to have any major changes except the availability of black rims similar to the other ones that you have seen on other AMG vehicles.
I see you own a 14 GL63. Are you trading it in on 15 GL63?
I'm thinking of trading my GL550 on a GL63 but may wait until it receives a refresh. I would prefer a larger NAV screen similar to the new C-class but MB will likely not make such a change until the next full refresh. It would appear they refresh their SUV's every 6 years.

there are spy shots of a refresh with a larger nav screen like the c-class. This is predicted to be on sale in in 2015.
I'm under the impression that no major dash updates (or much of anything else) will hit this year in the GL.. Or we would have already seen them as some 2015 GL550/450s have been released.
The difference between a GL63 and the 550 is substantial.
The AMG can be driven any way you wish... Like a sports car or family hauler... But you have all of the capabilities in a nanosecond (avoiding something in the road ahead of you either by braking or simply swerving around, accelerating away from something or just merging).
My previous car was a 2008 GL550 and I could never understand why people bought 450s as they are completely different beasts under the sheet metal... The same can be said between the 550 and 63 x166.
I like vehicles that respond telepathically to my wishes... And for a large SUV..it does the trick. (Note that I said "large" meaning 3rd row..... Probably not quite as good as a turbo Macon for example but close and certainly almost as fast if not faster)
I'm going to the 2015 because my dealer wants mine back and I want silver! (I will never do another black car again... Way to hard to keep clean.. And for you automatic car wash types...it will scratch and fog pretty easily....the only way to keep the paint clear is to hand wash)
Quote: "Inside, look for a redesigned dash, new trim materials and an updated infotainment system. A new display screen can be seen shrouded by black cloth, and this should be joined by a new touchpad surface for an updated COMAND interface."

I agree with you about owning a black car. I bought a black car once and vowed never to buy another. It looked dirty all of the time. Ever since I've been buying white cars. My Diamond White GL550 looks good even when it is a bit dirty.
My local dealer (Lancaster Mercedes-Benz in PA) has 14 GL63 in black with a designo porcelain interior. It is one good looking SUV.
Specifically for the display, all pics of the refreshed GL have the display covered, but there is one pic with the GLE/M new display and the GL is normally identical so this is most likely what is under the covers of the GL pics http://paultan.org/2014/04/04/spysho...ised-interior/
I actually like the look of the prototype dashboard shown above. My son and I test drove the new C-class last week and it has this style of display. It looked very good in person. And the HD graphics looked great, much better than the tiny screen on the current GL. And while I'm making a wish list, here a few more things I hope they refresh:
1. Go with a command knob and touch-pad similar to the one used in the new C-class.
2. Upgrade the seat memory button material to metal rather than plastic buttons.
3. Offer a Burmester sound system option.
4. Include a heads-up display option.
The Germans love the "let's glue a tablet to the middle of the dash" look don't they!
Agree. This looks appropriate on a C-Class, but not on a $75-$95k vehicle. The other noticeable changes are the center vents. They seem to be much larger. I do notice that the HVAC is louder on my X166 that it was on the X164 and I remember they asked about the noise level of the HVAC in the JD Power Survey. Perhaps they are addressing this.
As a mid-cycle refresh, this would be an aggressive change so kudos to MB if they make it happen. Very few car companies change dashboards for a mid-cycle refresh. I would expect a fully digital dash (similar to the S-class) in the next full redesign. This would work for me until then and as I said, it looks better in person. Test drive the new C-class and you will understand what I'm saying. There is nothing cheap looking about it. In fact, the interior of the new C-class is classier than the current GL.
he objective with the "tablet-like design" is to move the middle/passenger side dash "forward" towards the engine - more comfort room since the electronics are moved farther down into the dahs towards the engine compartment ... it's a ergo/room thing..
Another advantage to the "tablet-like design" is higher, eye-level placement on the dash. BMW and Audi are doing the same with their Nav screens. As I mentioned before, test-drive the new C-class and you'll find it works quite good during real world driving.
Possible refresh for the 2016 GL dash. It needs a larger display so this would be a welcome change:
Oh Snap, now I want to forget about buying the the GL550 until this refresh....I was so hoping for Apple Carplay to have already be here....
I so feel like I should wait.......It won't kill me if I wait......arrgghhhh......I'm like this || close to pulling the trigger to buy the GL550 until I saw this.
I hate the nav screen that looks so pixelated to be honest.
Now I need to go and think hard about the decision......
.........
And while I'm making a wish list, here a few more things I hope they refresh:

.....
The command knob/touchpad does away with the numeric pad on the centre console. The spy shots show the revised GL/GLE centre console still having a numberic pad so I think chances of the new touch pad are not good.

Good point. The center arm rest would need to be redesigned as well so you're probably right. I'm still pleased that MB is even considering such a change for a mid-cycle refresh.
