Just Ordered 2015 GL450
Just ordered my first GL450. Got lots of tips from this website that saved me $$$. So I want to share my experience.
Started at $2000 fleet program only and ended up with over $5000 off MSRP.
Vehicle is en route for delivery next week.
Key specs:
- Premium package
- Lighting package
- Appearance package
- Panorama sunroof
- Parking package
- Lane tracking package
The spirit is:
- Don't listen to the "new model" sales pitch. Negotiate negotiate negotiate.
- Good deal is usually at year-end or month-end.
- Go shop for lowest possible loan rate (unless you pay in full). Dealer won't do that for you. They make money on rate difference.

I got 6% off of MSRP on my ordered 2015 GL350. Fleet is not included and will be applied at the time of sale. I think it's possible to get better deal when you order GL450.

This is what, your third GL in less than four years? I hope you are getting a big discount. The dealership must love you.

Accepting fleet discount is at the option of a dealer - however, generally for the MB dealer it's a smart choice - for example - on "most" MB fleet discounts dealer gets 50% of the discount back to the dealer from MB - so your discounts "costs" the dealer 50% face value .
There are no additional "incentives" from MB to the dealer on GL's... so with limited supply thru the balance of this year.. "most" dealers need to use their noggin on what they have available and how best to meet their local market demand... GL availability in the case of 450's is forecasted/built with planned MB sell-out by Dec 31... 550's, 350's planned by MB for close to sell out by 3rd/4th week Sept thru year end

LOL, there's a sales pitch about the new, far inferior engine? That's a good one!

It's not a bad engine; it's just the wrong engine for this vehicle.

yeah its very interesting, my old 2006 yukon denali 6 liter 335 hp375tq moves quite well without hesitation when changing freeway lanes or passing, not even needing to downshift its 4 speed auto tranny and that thing is quite heavy
but when driving my brothers ford flex, 3.5 L tt 6 cylinder, with more power the ford just didnt seem confident in moving its butt
