I am considering to get GL450 or GL350 BlueTec very confused because 450 is not V6 that's kind of like making me thing is it a performance sacrifice I am going to do if that`s the case then why not go for Diesel, anyways I would really appreciate your comments on both the GL`s and which one I should place the order for.....

Below is the specs I am ordering and I am getting $5500.00 off the Invoice price plus any incentives due at the time of delivery, and as I am not in super hurry I said I need the delivery in Feb 2015....Please find below the packages...

roughly the price for this car is coming around $86000 - 5500 = $80500 + TTL (Chicago)

Can I get more discount or this is the max I could get....

Thought of going with Panorama roof but heard bad stories about it so thinking to opt out of it, because I hardly use the sunroof now in my current GL

 

You probably mean off MSRP, not invoice. It would be too good to have $5500 off of invoice. I would buy 2 cars
I will pick up my 2015 GL350 this Saturday. Currently I drive GL450 and I like diesel more. Starting November 1 fleet discount ( if u eligible) for 2015 model is $3000.
I don't know if it's true, but I was told that Panorama roof adds resale value in the future. My GL has panorama roof, I rarely use it...mostly for show off but had zero issues with that.

 

The sales person said whatever total build price - $5500.00 I said that's what I want

 

Invoice is from 6% to 7% off MSRP - depending on a dealer.
Any model you chose - it will be a great car.

 

So am I getting a good deal then........Bcoz I am not sure if I am getting 7% off MSRP or Invoice price...for me final bill is the Invoice

I am planning to go this Saturday for the test drive of both 450 & 350 but because 450 got a baby Motor V6 for some reason it is turning me off......I will decide once I test drive both thoroughly....

And I thinking to add the Roof...

We bought a '15 GL450 and we like it a lot. The V6 biturbo has ample power for what we(wife mostly) use it for-soccer mom duties and occasional road trips. It doesn't have the nice growl as the V8 but we are happy with the power/torque of the V6. We've owned a '11 GL350 and I really liked the turbo diesel. If you are going to be doing any towing, the GL350 is the way to go. As you probably know, the turbo diesel has gobs of low end torque! Great MPG also with the diesel as well as higher resale value. I just didn't want to deal with a couple diesel "to do" things. Yeah, I'm getting lazy as I get older.
Test drive them both and happy hunting!

 

Do you have more information on fleet discount being $3000? According to the site 2015 GL FEP is $2000.

I think the info on the link you provided is not up to date. I made a picture of my discount document. I'm using ABA program. It may change at the time of your delivery.

anyways I got close to $8000 in Discounts off GL550 MSRP instead of ordering it I ended buying one they getting next week I hope I got the good deal, anyways below is the details

I decided not to go with GL. Dealer couldn't find the light interior Beige in the combo I was looking for. However I was getting 7.7% including $2500 winter event MB to dealer cash rebate. If I was going to use my FEP, I was told they will knock off another $500 as FEP is $3000 for GL.

but I can't wait 3+ months for my custom color combo. May be next year when GL will be refresh with modern cockpit. Current cockpit is 10 year old.

I ordered 2015 X5 today. Dealer had 4 current allocations in status 112. Which mean it's already in production and takes 3 weeks to build and deliver the X5 with my color combo and packages. Change my build and tracking the production number already.

Now I am freaking confused, big time....

I am not in super hurry of needing a car rite know, it was just a new car itch, anyways I already put the deposit so do you all think after screwing this Sales guy so much he would return the deposit or use it for future purchase, if he elects to use it for future purchase I doubt that Ahole will give me any good deal knowing I screwed him over and now its his time to screw me.....

By the way when is the latest we can order 2016 and I read we are going to get GL450 with V8 now....

 

If you are in Chicago, ask your dealer what they will do on warranty for a diesel when you burn 11% biodiesel (what's available in Illinois) and the warranty explicitly states you must us less than 5% biodiesel. Get it in writing if you get one.

I don't want to alarm you, my research seems to indicate >5% doesn't pose a big risk. But, if you have an engine failure it clearly gives MB an out on coverage.

 

Sounds like a good deal for the vehicle but you can probably do much better with the extended warranty. I'm guessing you meant to say 6yr/75,000? I got a 7yr/100,000 (MB Extended Limited Warranty) for $3,200 on our '15 GL450. Remember, you don't have to buy the warranty from the purchasing dealership. Let me know and I can PM you the POC.

 

Just purchased 2015 GL550. It was 99,700. I bought it for 93,400. $500 over dealer invoice. I thought I received a great deal. Ask to be at dealer invoice for the 350 or 450. Plus I received 2 Years premier maintenance at no charge

I don't think you will get V8 for GL450 on 2015 or thereafter.

Without doubt, the general trends is high efficient engine to be set between the "AMG" toy and "Non-AMG" car for the "AMG" lover.

Maybe you will get a GLS450e to compensate the V8->V6 one day.

I stopped by my dealer today and this is what they offered me.

They brought it down to 71,985.

Out the door price is 78,859.15.

It looks pretty good but I'm working it towards 75,000. Think it can happen?
I'm just price shopping at the moment but will buy one the day after Christmas

 

You are almost getting 7% off MSRP which is right at Invoice price, depending on the inventory and future open slots they might come down or they might not, the best way to figure that out is just ask them casually what if I have to custom order do you have any slots open, but don't expect to be another couple of thousand I would say another $1k would still be reasonable, and anything on top is cherry.

Also if you plan on keeping the car after 4 years don't forget to take the Mercedes Extended Warranty (ELW) for 7yr/100K($3000) or 7Yr/75K($2000) this is the best warranty you could get, and it will pay itself off once you fix 1 front strut

By the way with options in your car these are all must have options and I hardly see any GL's with 581 (3 Zone Climate Control) this is standard in GL550 though, but I always had this in my car no matter which part of US I lived in....

I would say just don't go too hard on them if they are not coming down on price, because if they sense you anyways gonna shop a lot they will never come down on the price assuming you are not going to buy from them or you are not serious with the purchase, and if possible just try to sneak in the warranty or something extra's such as DVD System because you got Pre-Wired package into the deal as this is the only time they gonna behave like a CAMP B1TCH after that you know what happens....And show them this post and tell them you are buying new car and can take your business anywhere in US with only extra cost of $1000 which would be towards the shipping of the car where you live. That's how I negotiated with my GL and they came down after showing all the post with people saying how much discounts they been getting plus $1k extra and I got the deal
