Prices paid on a GL450 2015
I am in the middle of negotiating a new GL450. Pretty much fully loaded. I've been offered about $7K below invoice from one dealer and another dealer offered 12% discount (which comes to almost $10K). The second dealer will give me whatever the incentive is for the month when it is delivered (it's being ordered to my specs).
Is the second offer good? What has everyone else paid? I'm in California.

I'm assuming that the OP means 7% or 12% discount off the window sticker...not dealer cost or invoice. I could be wrong.
I was wondering the same actually so I'm glad this topic is getting discussed...even though I will likely move to the 2015 GL350 vs. GL450.

Ordered 2015 GL 350 last September and it was delivered on 11/12/14. MSRP was $84300 and I paid $78300 less fleet discount of $2k. I'm in Ohio. Hope this helps.

My thought on the 12% offer...well:
.12X = 10000
X = 83333
If you're looking at a GL with an over 83k MSRP just get a 550 as they come pretty much loaded at 91k. Unless you're leasing of course, as the 550 lease terms blow.

Now this is kindoff funny.... "just get a 550 as they come pretty much loaded at 91k"
Personally - if you have a opportunity to test drive a "well equipped" GL550 with Active Curve+ - you will be very/very impressed with that difference alone... then sit in a GL550 w/black Designo... and speak Italian !

Yes, you are all correct. My mistake. It is 12% off MSRP.
The 550 only gets 13/18 mpg and I just cant go backwards with what I am driving now. The 450 17/21 is a little better.
I am buying the Mercedes 2015 because of the safety. I am getting the Drivers Assistance Package because it will stop the car for you. (I was in a bad accident last year).
So does it looks like 12% off MSRP is a good deal?

I guess 12% off MSRP is a very good deal, you also need to take into consideration that free coffee\drinks and nice air conditioning, Porter, Sales Guy costs money to dealer...So you getting a good deal just take it the more you wait the more you might loose and other dealer sometimes wont entertain this much off.

also the dealer who is willing to go give 12% discount.
I went to a bay area dealer today and they gave
me gave 4.5k discount on a $78k 2015 GL450.
Knowing your options and numbers would help in negotiating which I am bad at.
Thanks

The wrapped dash is worth waiting for. Looks real nice and adds a lot to the interior look.
12% is a decent deal. Rarely do you hear of more. But sometimes a member here will find a vehicle a dealer is motivated to move.... I got 12% on a ML order last year.... with a wrapped dash.
Looks like you didn't skip too many options. Enjoy!

nice.
has anyone given comments on the V6 biturbo vs. the prior V8 biturbo?
i've got a 2013 GL and lease is up Nov, and not sure if i should roll into another, or just keep for $48k(it was $88k msrp).

How about heated steering wheel? If you are in a cold climate (I assume you are with all the other heated options) you will really appreciate that. You lose the wood on the wheel, but it is really a nice option.
You asked about B&O. I can't say I've ever listened to it, but be aware you will switch from having a spare to having run flat tires so they can put the subwoofer where the spare tire goes. For that reason I'd stay with HK, but I'm not a major audiophile.
I have the massage front seats, don't use it too much, but once in awhile. I use the ventilated seat option more. It just puts air on your backside, but I do find I get less sweaty.

Ford Lightning, GL350 and a couple of outbacks
also read up on the headrests and the power easy entry. I'm custom ordering a 350 with a very similar set of options but specifically did not get easy entry. Will have kids in the second seat and the headrests are either all up or all down and down is very uncomfortable for them.

@Dreamszalone, What is the black headliner?
@bzliteyear, I have had several people state that your car has more power than the 2015. This will be my first MB so no issue to me buy may be for you. I would test drive one for sure.
@JimBarnhart, I am in No California so I wouldnt use the heated steering wheel but for a month or two out of the year. I really like the wood. I did her heated washer fluid, lots of people suggested that. Thank you for telling be about the subwoofer as I am not interested in a run flat tire. I want a full sized one. And thank you for the massage chair comment. Good to know.
@KF93, I sat in the 2nd row and checked out the headrests and I am only 5'3". In the up position I barely touch the head rest and it curves just right. I heard others say the same thing as you but I didnt find that to be true when I sat in the seats.
Thanks everyone for all the comments and suggestions. I really appreciate it. In fact, another member drove home yesterday with a 450 at 11% off because I introduced him to my salesperson. What goes around, comes around.
Cheers!

Instead of grey cloth what they use for your roof lining they will use it as black, good thing is you can add it as an option, by default it is black if you choose the Designo leather, and this option is very cheap like $150 bucks and it improves your car interior looks by atleast 50%

2015 - GL 550
My personal experience suggest looks are subjective. I drove a Cayenne when we were shopping in 2012. It had black leather, black headliner. I LOVED the look, but my wife said it made her feel like she was in a cave and she felt more enclosed. In case you are wondering, I have a gray headliner....happy wife...
