After tuning GL450 3.0L V6 Biturbo we saw huge gains of +124wTq @3600rpm and +106wHp @4600rpm to all 4 wheels on a 4×4 Mainline Dyno. An unmodified GL450 running CA91 premium pump fuel was dyno tested. Gains can be seen on the pictured graph below, the unmodified Baseline (Blue) vs OE Tuning ECU Tune (Red).
Power and performance ECU upgrade from OE Tuning includes:
Increased Boost Targets (16psi)
Fuel Adjustment
Improved Throttle response
Top Speed Limiter removal
Raised Torque Limits

Looks good, any memorial/introductory special? I'm close enough to bring the car in and get it done next week.
I'm sure the chip works, but the question is: how will it affect the transmission and the drivetrain in general?
I doubt the drivetrain is set up to handle the increased horsepower and torque, hence installing this is begging for trouble.

If I'm not mistaken, it's the same drivetrain from the GL550, which has similar, if not more whp.Originally Posted by w220430

From testing we did not see any adverse effects to the transmission. In actual fact the trans can take far more torque output than our tune delivers.Originally Posted by w220430
