It depends how much your dealer will charge for each service. I believe maintenance pack for 3 services cost about $1600 for Bluetec. In my case I did service A for $250 at the dealership, for which another dealer would charge me $420. So if my another service A at 30K miles will be $250 again - it does not make sense for me to buy service pack for $1600. I'm not sure how much service B at 20K miles cost, but I'm sure the price is lower than remaining $1100.

The price of the "pack" is determined by model - torubo 4 - V6 - V8 - Diesel - AMG etc.
So you know - the price of a 3-pack bought prior to 20K B service covers B-A-B - same price as if bought at time of purchase which covers A-B-A.
For many of the gasser models - if you plan keeping/driving over 40K - then can make sense buying a 3-pack before 20K B service.
On the diesels - 20K service incl fuel filter - which is a cost bump for B service on diesel - and AdBlue top off for A and B at MB prices - so #'s on diesels are not as attractive as gasser.
Keep the beat !

I just had my 20,000 mi service. The fuel filter replacement is not listed as part of this service, it is now listed for the 350 gl for replacement every 40,000 miles, as compared to my old 320 gl, every 20,000 mi.
I hope they know what they are doing...

i went to a trusted non-dealer service station and paid $ 205 for my B service, which I felt was very fair. It did not include changing the combination cabin filter, since it was not necessary. Everything else on the MB maintenence chart was performed, with Mobil 1 oil.

Cabin internal and external air filter.
I agree with your independent service on the cabin air filter. I just changed the external and internal filters on mine. I drive in some moderately dusty areas (occasional dirt roads) and it appears that a change interval of 20,000 miles on the external air filter and 40,000 miles on the internal filter is fine. Only if you are in an incredibly dusty or polluted area (such as Beijing) would you need to follow the MB recommendations of 10K for the external and 20K for the internal air filter.
