COMAND file types for SD slot and USB?
I've searched online and some people say that they've had success while I've also read that it doesn't work....and that the SD slot and USB are strictly for music (MP3's, etc).
Can someone clarify...I really would like to get some sort of movie storage for long trips other than constantly popping in discs.
Thanks...
The system will play physical DVD disks, but obviously not on the center screen when the vehicle is moving. (There are work arounds for this.....)

And yes I am familiar and looking into those "workarounds" (DVDinMotion)

Another idea....apparently the output from an older 30-pin iOS device will work:

EDIT: I had an old iPhone 3GS sitting in the drawer and can confirm that the concept of the above link works. One caveat: the 3GS has limited video decoding abilities so I had to use the iPod default settings in Handbrake to make a file that iTunes would transfer to the phone (i.e low resolution). It would appear that the key ability of the older iOS 30-pin devices is the analog video channel that is not part of the spec for the newer all-digital Lightning connector. YMMV.
