24" on my 2014 GL450
24 x 10 Lexani Barvaria Machine face with silver with 40mm offset
Nitto 285/35/24
Was worried it was going to rub because all the shops recommend 275/30/24. Wanted more cushion meat on side walls so I went with 35 series sidewall and a little wider. No rubbing. I guess it depends on offset and that is the key to rim fitment.

The GL is big enough to carry that off without looking overdone.
Cool
Mike
Yes the title 24's sounds funny as how it is portrayed nowadays on cars, used abusively on cars (not suvs or trucks) that it does not belong on and looks ridiculous, lol!

1) 285/35/24 usually is a 108 load rating. 111 is our OEM. I would probably have moved to a 295/35/24 and risk the slight rub at full turn. That has a 110 load rating which still isn't OEM, but closer. 305/35/24 would 100% rub.
2) I would suggest 42 PSI front and 44 PSI rear to avoid bending the wheels. This is the Brabus approved PSI for 23" wheels, so you can possibly go 43-44 PSI front and 45-46 rear.
3) As the driver, 40-50 PSI doesn't bother me, the air suspension works well. As a passenger in the 3rd row at 40-50 PSI, you can tell the ride is rough.
4) I had the same 285/35/24 setup on a smaller SUV, and had no issues with daily driving and potholes in Chicago.
I like the look, looking forward to your next mod.

My offset is farther out so it won't hit the suspension for me, but it would hit the fender lining.
I will stick with 305/35/23 for now, thanks for helping me out.
I'm sorry for commenting on a thread that's nearly 2 years old, BUT its the only one I've seen covering larger wheels for the X166 body style. Therefore, I was hoping some of past commenters can help me (fingers crossed):
I bought 24" x 10 Forgiato Flow 001 rims with +38 offset (as ydlee's pictures really made me want to go that size, as it looks great). I was planning on doing 285/35/24, just like jdlee did. HOWEVER, is there any difference in the wheel wells, ball joint screws, etc. from his GL450, and my GL63??
Thank you all in advance, and I'm excited to be part of this community.

Congrats on the car - so far it's been the most comfortable, practical daily that a simple tune can get you 100+ hp and 100+ torque. Try out https://www.oetuning.com/products/me...rmance-package and ask for a burble tune!

2) A lot depends on your relationship with your service adviser.
3) Any ECU tuning, if they do any forensics, they can find out if you changed the mapping or not.
4) That being said, you can run a tuned ECU, the swap to stock when you go to the dealer. They can still find out. You can either do a handheld tuner and flash it to stock when you bring it to the dealer and then flash it to tuned afterwards. Or you can get an extra ECU and have one stock ECU and one tuned ECU. The handheld tuner is much easier and cheaper.
Many run tuned M157 engines (E63, CLS63, S63, G63) with no issues. Renntech is another one which some dealers offer.
Long story short - yes it will void your warranty (if something goes wrong with your engine/turbos) if the dealer decides to deny you.
How many miles on your engine?
