Split coolant

Hello all

My wife drive a '14 GL550. I read somewhere that I can split the coolant from the ic from the engine circuit. I tried the search but couldn't find anything. Just wondering if anyone here done that?

Do you mean you want to do coolant flush?

No, from what I remember the 13 & 14 have the intercooler coolant tied into the engine coolant. So it's always at 190 degrees. The 15 and up have the coolant split, engine coolant in a separate circuit than the ic coolant. By doing that the engine coolant is still at 190 degrees and ic coolant is right about ambient temperatures, hence more power.

Kinda like this
