Foggy Front 360 Camera second one
Hi All,
New to the forum, but not new to MB or cars, but this one is annoying me...
Have replaced my front camera once already - now the second one is doing the same thing! All other camera work just fine - crisp and clear. The front one is foggy. I have tried wiping the lens, making sure nothing is obscuring it... and it's not foggy out as you can see from the photos. Any ideas? I'm just out of Warranty too - 10/19/2017...

Exactly the same issue with my 2014 W166, have replaced front camera with original part. At the begining the view was crispy clear but in a couple of days image become foggy. Did anyone solved the problem?

Went into the dealer and they replaced the front camera. According to the service adviser, some water got into the lens and stayed there. Forgot to ask for the part back to see if I can take it apart and clean it if it happens again. Don't know the cost, but was taken care of under extended warranty.

My issue was wiring harnesses. A mouse or mice had chewed through 3 major harnesses in the engine bay. Lots of the sound and heat insulation was eaten up too.
Turned out also, the actual connector from the harness that hooks to the camera was broken and was allowing water in- possibly from a small frontal impact ??
Anyway - 3 cameras I went through until we found the real problem. I sold the car shortly after as it was starting to develop other ticks...!

Obviously it is an impact of water. Washing the car or driving in a rainy conditions also effects a Driving Assistance System to fail. I realize that some wirings need too be checked. Thanks guys for your comments!

My camera is shockingly bad in the dark, i cant see a thing other than the image of the car, the surrounding area is blackness. I know theres a software update for this but Im doubtful that it will fix the issue.
Keeping the front camera as clean as possible is key, as soon as mine gets a bit dirty the daytime visibility drops too but thats an obvious statement.
I also have Driving Assistance problems when its cold, error messages saying one function or another not working but they come back one when I drive for a few minutes.
Still a great vehicle though!!!!!
