Is this the correct Oil and Filter for Blutecs?

I just registered to ask some questions about GL450, and it seems this is my first post.
Yes that is correct oil. You need either MB229.51 or MB229.52.
I personally use Mobil1 5W30 ESP in my BMW X5 35d. That oil meets also MB229.51 and according to some test results it is probably best oil currently available for Euro diesels on the U.S. market.
However, any oil that meets MB22951 or MB229.52 will do. You have in Wal mart Pennzoil Platinum Euro L 5W30 that meets MB229.51 for $22 for 5qt.

I personally use only MB oil as OP had posted. In case something goes wrong with engine and With right oil and oil sample lab report might help in battle with MB.
Just my opinion.

MB229.5 (gas) and MB 229.51 (diesel) are oils with most stringent NOACK (evaporation loss) and deposit requirements.
Why that matters for diesel?
When you have high NOACK you have more oil loss which will end up in DPF, and ash and phosphorous from oil will start clogging DPF.
Now, why Mobil1 5W30 ESP?
It has NAOCK 5.6% which is ridiculous achievement. Most really good oils in that category that are approved have NOACK of 8-10% and in case of Pennzoil 5W30 Euro L, 11%.
M1 5W30 ESP has HTHS (High Temperature-High Shear) of 3.58cp. That is the most important number when it comes to turbo protection. HTHS of 3.58 is actually already in 5W40 field. For example Mobil1 0W40 FS has HTHS of 3.6cp.
Ash level (ash is main caus of DPF clogging) is 06% which is lowest in that category. Add extremely low NOACK to that and M1 5W30 ESP is oil to slow down death of DPF which will happen one day.

I heard 229.51 more thick oil BUT there is some reason MB switched or added new approved standards 229.52.

Mobil1 makes oils for MB. 5W30 MB oil on photo is probably derivative of M1 5W30 ESP.
Also, you can use any oil in your car as long as it is approved by Mercedes. MB cannot do anything about it. You can change oil on your own in the parking lot as long as you use MB approved oil, and MB cannot do anything about it. There is a thing called Magnuson-Moss Act that protects you as a consumer.
This thing that you MUST use oil from dealership and change oil in dealership is biggest scam there is:
https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/article...ne-maintenance
So, if you use Mobil1 5W30 ESP, or for example Pennzoil 5W30 Euro L that is available in Wal Mart for $22 for 5qt and is approved by MB for MB 229.51, Mercedes has to warrant your engine in case let's say turbo fails.

Good info there. After paying a ridiculous amount of money at the dealer for "Service B" which didn't even cover the air filters or the fuel filter (it was basically an oil change, new wiper blades, and an "inspection"), I've started to do service myself.
For what it is worth, I've been using IDParts for my diesel needs on both my VW and my Mercedes:

I like the service kits but some other parts are a bit pricey. For example, the OEM air filters were quite a bit cheaper on Amazon than at IDParts.
