2014 GL550 engine is hot after every ride
i live in CA. weather has been somewhat hot, around 70-90 during the peak. my garage faces south west so it gets very hot during the day time. last week, i touched the hood few minutes after i parked my GL in my garage and it was very hot. i touched other parts of body and it was very cool even though garage was heated up. i noticed this behavior constantly after that. may be i'm oversensitive about this issue but when my wife drove off, the engine (not the exhaust) sounded louder than usual even at the start.
i do have one recall (Active curve system related) undone yet, but is there anything else i can check to see if this is normal?

GL's tend to run hotter than other cars. How is your coolant levels? As Jacobsung mentioned, keep an eye on temp gaguge. I live in FL and close to the ocean, sometimes steam comes out of the body panels on really hot days.

It is the fact that it is gas (looses temperature much faster to outside then diesel for example since it is aluminum) and the fact that it is fairly big engine.
It comes handy in cold states. Could serve as a heater for garage

If it gets really hot, the instrument cluster will notify to pull on the side of the road and turn the engine off. I've personally never experience it but I read it in the owner’s manual, I was also concern when we first purchased it.
