well i am trying to make my 450 a 63 sleeper and in doing so i am in search of modifications that will improve the trucks power output. Can I run those ttm scoops as seen on older e class models? I would like to install diverted valve and and exhaust solution

Drop to smaller diameter lightweight forged wheels. Lower rotational mass will give you more power at the wheels. Turbo upgrade is also a good way to make more power. Add a killer chiller and a supplemental intercooler tank. Run straight through exhaust with down pipes.

The ECU tune is an upgrade that will wake your motor into a 63 level. I've been thinking about doing the same, once the extended warranty runs out.

Having had an E55 fully modded I would go Killer Chiller and meth injection. Tuning for meth injection made HUGE diff. I have thought to do this to the 550 but only if I get real froggy. I made 522hp/668tq in my E and ran high 10s

I have my catless downpipes, tune and exhaust work on my 550 as you know. Oh and Sprint Booster helps make a little more touchy on gas pedal.

What does the sprint booster do, I guess no one is reading my sig  I have a 63 tune by renntech but looking to raise the bar a bit more ie... exhaust or downpipe bigger air box and air intake pipes.

How was the Renntech tune? What kind of numbers are you currently running? Debating Renntech or AMS tune. AMS does offer downpipes, airbox and intake pipes...

forgot to mention the airbox risers, i'm not sure they are worth the money and i don't see many showing proof these give any gains esp for $400 or so dollars. The intake systems are mainly for show, now I love me some carbon fiber and I had the Renntech carbon intake on my E55, but was it worth $3600 in gains, nope. Hell none give gains, but sure looked cool ( note my sig pic)

The Sprint Booster just plugs into the pedal area and improves throttle response by adjusting the signal sent to the ECU to make it think you are pressing harder than you are basically. But there is a diff in the touchyness of they pedal that's for sure, so it feels quicker per se, but is NOT making you any more power.

I would like to thank everyone for their input and helping me with lots of valuable information for me and other 450 drivers out there looking to mod there GLs as well, so running bigger air boxes has been proven not make a difference? Does anyone know if upd has shown positive results with additional equipment installed?

Im about to add BMC filters and a Racechip tuning box to my GL63 which takes it to 640 hp and 876 Nm

Not sure if the filters are a waste of money or not but having spoken to the guys at Renntech they suggested it will help with the tune and they werent that interested in the UPD, I didnt buy from them so no sales talk!!

Got a great deal on the BMC filters here in the UK made them not far away from stock filter costs so worth a go compared to the $350 UPD items plus they lift the boxes and the engine cover doesnt sit flush anymore

He mentioned that he already has a Renntech tune. He's looking to take it to the next level... I would suggest a turbo upgrade, it would easily give you +100HP.

Racechip & 450

Has anyone tried the GTS Black and see increased efficiency (e.g. HP & MPG)?
