wonder if anyone has done this? I want to install a “2021 gl63 panamericana grille” in photo (blk) to my “2014 GL 450” in photo (white). would it work? Unfortunately i have searched many grilles but none that would work on my 2014 gl 450. Its like they
search for gtr grille they are out there but specific for 2013-2014 models only ones i have seen ship from China on ebay and for some reason are more expensive than later models. I think there is also a youtube video of the installation / mod
I purchased everything from eBay. The LED star was from: space.age.fulfillment for $28.95 and the grille from: partformance for $227.95 all in the US, I received both items within a week.
That was taken at 2a. It started as an exploratory exercise that ended up with me going to Walmart for a cutoff tool to cut out the old grille and finishing about 2 in the morning. The LED matched the fog lights perfectly. Its hard to tell in this photo, but I am very pleased with the end results. Star and grille fitment is pretty spot on.
Just blacked out and added black stripes on what was the chrome part. I like the beefy look. I like the amg grill, but it’s too skinny for what I want to build.

Yes and yes. Easy install no bumper removal required. Sourced the GL Pana grille from eBay. Also replaced star with a blacked out version to match the 550 mesh like bumper inserts. For the S Coupe I spent more at a more legit site. The eBay version for the GL required some fighting but it worked.

Can you give a few more details of how you did the process? I have a 2016 GL450 Barabus grill going on my 2015 GL460.
Time to get some HIDs to match your star. My 550 has an illuminated star but it's just the star and it's a bit more subtle. Since your whole star and the circle is lit up, you gotta match it with the headlights. I know, more money right? That's the problem with these threads lol.
