GL 550 hard to start
GL 550 is very hard to start and once it does start it runs very rough. The other day it thru three codes PO33500, PO33502, and P261713. I reset the codes and now it is only showing the P261713 code.
I recently changed the temperature coolant sensor but don't see how that would effect a position sensor error. Does anyone have an idea?

How about the crank position sensor? How old is the battery?

11 o'clock on the rear of the engine block near the transmission flange. Looking from rear towards the front. In other words, upper driver's side in North America/LHD. It probably is covered with a sheet metal shield/cover.

So the other day when I changed out the temperature coolant sensor I had to disconnect the CPS electrical connection in order to access the temperature coolant sensor. After the error code popped up and once I found out where the CPS was located I figured that I must have gotten some moisture in the CPS electrical connectors. Today I opened CPS electrical connector back up and blew it out with an air gun. Going to leave it disconnected for a day for additional drying time and then put it back together. Crossing my fingers. As far as how challenging I had to drop (actually remove) the drivers side exhaust. The most challenging part is disconnecting the oxygen and CPS sensor electrical clips. It requires two hands and the amount of room to work in is very tight. I can see the top of the CPS from underneath but cannot see the screw holding it in. Should it need to be replaced it appears that I will have to feel around in order to get it...not looking forward to it and hope what I have done will fix the issue. Will update either way.

GL 550 CPS
Update on GL 550 running rough. Received the new crankshaft position sensor and got it installed! Appears to have fixed the problem. After having changed the Temperature Coolant Sensor, I believe I am getting pretty good at tearing out the bottom of the vehicle. Attached is pic of the CPS. If you look directly behind it is the TCS. The difficulty in changing out either sensor lies in getting to them. Once you do the actual change is relatively simple.
