GL450
X166 GLS CarPlay touchscreen retrofit into X166 GL
Hi friends -
2013 GL450 in the Los Angeles area here. Wondering if anyone can refer a car audio guy that can retrofit an x166 GLS CarPlay touchscreen into an x166 GL. I have asked around and it seems like this needs a specialist. I would prefer OEM but willing to use aftermarket if OEM is impossible. Thanks

Forget it.

You basically have two other choices for CarPlay.

1) Retrofit an Android based touch screen with CarPlay. (thread)

2) Add a small aftermarket module to enable CarPlay (non-touch) using the OEM screen and Comand knob like this:

(there are multiple 'brands' of apparently identical hardware)
