Keyless go module fuse
I'm thinking to check for a blown fuse and even if the fuse is not blown, removing and re installing it may reset the module
Thanks
Fob new batteries are a must.
Failure point is usually the door handle or fob. You need to do systematic diagnosis to narrow down what is working and what isn’t.

What year is the vehicle?
interior door lock buttons work on all 4 doors?
liftgate button works on driver's door?
liftgate close button works on liftgate (red button)?
all of the tests listed on this thread have the same results with both fobs WITH FRESH BATTERIES?
The candidates are:
- fobs
- antennae (there are approx 6 antennae)
- control module
How many miles on this vehicle?
What is your history with it / how long and how many miles have you owned/driven it?
What is the entire service history of this vehicle to the best of your knowledge? Accidents? Water damage?

interior door lock buttons work on all 4 doors?. I only have lock buttons on the front doors and yes both work
liftgate button works on driver's door? Yes
liftgate close button works on liftgate (red button)? Yes. Both red button and the lock button on the lift gate works
all of the tests listed on this thread have the same results with both fobs WITH FRESH BATTERIES?. Correct fresh batteries
The candidates are:
- fobs. If this is the case it is strange of them to both die at the same time
- antennae (there are approx 6 antennae)
- control module
I'm also thinking antennae of module. More likely the module (hence my reason for starting the thread).
How many miles on this vehicle? 90,800 miles
What is your history with it / how long and how many miles have you owned/driven it? Bough the vehicle in 2017. It had 14k miles on it.
What is the entire service history of this vehicle to the best of your knowledge? Accidents? Water damage? Regularly serviced at the MB dealer. Have had few non regular items replaced. Both front struts, center console a leaking XM antenna etc. No major history of any electrical issues. No history of accident or water damage that I know of. I did check carfax before purchase it matched the known history.

Just for kicks, do you have any signs of water infiltration in the rear? For example, broken/torn/folded liftgate seal or taillamp gaskets? Check in the spare tire area for signs of water. The X164 is well known for this and it's not clear if W/X166 are free of this.
