New GL 550

Hello Everyone,

I just bought me a 2013 Gl550.

The SUV has 150K miles, car runs great, and I am really loving it. I am just here to ask if anyone has one and what are some things I should be aware since the car has a good amount of mileage and just trying to be prepared.

Anything will be read and thank you in advance.

Check the camshaft sensor and magnets for oil ASAP. If you see oil, check the ECU. Order updated parts. This is a SILENT KILLER. . https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...r-leaking.html

Usually it is discovered AFTER it is too late and already experiencing issues.

AT 150K I would hope major issues have been corrected/presented itself by now, such as the common timing chain tensioners and check valves

Congrats! Please post a photo of the GL.

What is the service history? Change the transmission fluid at the dealer if it hasn't been done. Also do the transfer case oil. Differentials oil changes are optional because these are not designed near the limit and uncommonly fail at high mileage.

Change the brake fluid. Easy DIY or have the dealer or indy shop do it.

Agree with the comment to check the cam position sensor and cam magnet connectors for oil. Lots written on this site about this.

Looks nice all black. If planning to keep for the long haul, definitely invest in getting ALL fluids replaced for piece of mind, as mentioned!!
