2015 GL450
2015 GL450 code P2279
Hey everyone, the check engine light came on tonight and the trouble code was P2279. The read out said intake manifold gasket and pcv. I could not find a pcv valve for the 2015. Any help would be greatly appreciated

2017 GLS450, 2013 GL450, RIP 2011 GL450 (totalled)
This happened to a family member's GLS with the same engine, and the code kept coming back after clearing. The dealer fixed and I'm not sure what all they replaced - but it did require a repair for what that's worth. I'd search the x166 GLS forum for the code also to see if there's anything helpful.

Check the vacuum and breather system. Follow breather lines connected to the intake duct in the front center of the engine. The vacuum pump is at the back of the left/driver's side cylinder head. Trace the breather and vacuum tubes to find loose, cracked or separated hoses.

Unfortunately the PCV repair job is seriously time consuming as it involves removing the high pressure fuel pump. Best bet may be to deal with your trusted MB specialist for quality parts.

More info: I took it to an MB Service center, and they did a diagnostic. They felt like it could be a bad wastegate. I was also getting a p0299 code (low boost pressure on tubro 1). I did a pressure test on the wastegate and they both held 10psi. I also tested the lines they also held 10psi. I have not tested the solenoid yet.

Ask them to pull vacuum line for turbo solenoid which goes to vacuum pump and check if it is full of oil. If so there is a check valve on the vacuum pump which goes bad causing problems with boost.
