malfunction light
2014 GL 450, 128K miles - Last couple of days I've been getting a raising malfunction light (I'm guessing) within about 5 minutes of starting. Touch OK to clear the message and all is well. I cannot visually notice any difference in ride height, or feel any difference in ride. I've checked resting voltage in the tiny aux. battery in the rear and it measures 13.1 volts.
Anyone want to weigh in and make a WAG as what's tripping this message?

Old, tired pump? Is it making noise to where you can easily hear it?
Can you get the truck to the raised position? Let it sit like that overnight and see if a bag leaks.
Out of curiosity, why did you check the voltage of the aux battery? It doesn't factor in here, at all. And... side note... did you check the battery after the car had been sitting overnight (for a more accurate test)?

Doesn't leak down overnight or over day. Bags were replaced two months ago. Can't hear the compressor. I've check baby battery voltage because I read somewhere that a bad aux battery can cause false signals. Everything seems normal except for the light showing up and I don't want to go to the dealer and have the parts cannon shot at it.

@MJ50 I hate to see our poetry exercise leave X164, but right is right.

Before this post gets moved, I'll point out that in the X164 the Airmatic error message means the pump is taking too long to fill the reservoir, meaning the pump is worn out ... usually from leaky bags.
(which sounds like a cosmetic surgery issue, tbh)

OP isn’t far off base, the x166 system works the same. Malfunction illuminates when compressor is commanded on but won’t/can’t fill the central reservoir to commanded pressure.
shouldn’t be any codes associated with airmatic, if you interrogate the ECM you may get compressor runtime read out, which will indicate how har it has worked. That; however is no substitute for hooking your peepers on it and looking and listening for obvious malfunctions. Such as it not running when raise button is pressed. Compressor still likely culprit as bags were recently changed, it had led a hard life prior to that and even harder now that it has resistance and demand to contend with.
OP, off you go but do report back please!

Yes, I do know it's the wrong forum. I don't know how I put it in the wrong one, let alone how to change/move it. Eventually I'll determine the cause.

It made sense that the compressor was tired and taking too long so off I went in search of a replacement compressor. All sorts of less expensive ones on Amazon and Ebay but I chose and Arnot from FCPEuro. Found a warmer day and replaced it along with the filter. So now immediately upon starting I get the malfunction warning where as before it was random. Sometimes at start, sometimes 5 minutes down the road. Sometimes not at all. The car drives fine. Never sags, not over night, not over a week. Taking a measure from wheel well to the axle center, is always the same at all four corners. So, is there a code in there that needs to be erased? If so, can it be done with a generic scanner or is this a dealer issue? Just live the the light what will go out and stay out when touching "ok". Or shoot the parts canon at it?
