Waterlogged GL
Fortunately the rains have brought our lakes and reservoirs from 60% full to 100% full in the past couple of weeks.
Unfortunately our GL seems to have taken on a bit of water of its own. We have an CEL and error “No CAN message recieved from Multifunction Camera.” Dampness in the spare tire area and standing water in the battery compartment.
Any advise for helping chase down the leak or clogged drain? Or how to get the water out?

Sometimes when I open my hatch I get water that drains out of the plastic trim. I've been meaning to check into it, but I haven't yet. Can others please share their experience?

was your car not included in the water intrusion recall that affected the ML line? They put a drain plug under my spare tire. Did nothing to address the reasons for the intrusion, which are probably many.

Drill and a rubber grommet can solve that. Just be careful not to pull back the drill bit smelling like fuel. 😆

Battery compartment full of water? That's a new one.
Check all four corners of the sliding roof trough. The holes are 4-5mm in diameter and deep in the corners. Use a bright LED flashlight to find them. Slowly pour a cup of water into each of the holes and confirm visually the water exits under the car, usually just inboard of the wheels. If any drain is clogged, use string trimmer (weed whacker) line to carefully clear the drain tube.

The saga of the porous GL continued today with more heavy rain. This time I was waiting and ready to investigate. I’ll clean the sunroof drains and keep observing.
