How to verify the factory tow hitch/tow package
I've read many posts on this site regarding the evils of retrofitting a hitch, so I know I don't want to do that!
My question is: how can I verify for sure that a hitch is factory installed, and all of the "tow package" features are included? Can I do a visual inspection? Do I need to get a build sheet or window sticker?
I don't even know what a factory hitch looks like because I can't find a pic anywhere! Can someone post a pic of a factory hitch?
Thank you!
Sean.

The most definitive proof is the vehicle's build sheet or original window sticker. Ask the seller for it. You can also check for the physical towing prep components: a square metal hitch module under the plastic shroud behind the bumper and a trailer wiring connector (a 7-pin round socket) integrated into the bumper, not a loose wire harness.
Finally, turn the ignition on and check the central dashboard screen. A factory tow package will have a specific "Trailer" menu in the vehicle settings. If that menu is missing, the tow package is not factory.
