Service was performed by a non MB Dealer who did not know how to reset service.

Glad it helped. I did some research and found all 2020 to onward regardless of what model it is they're introducing the same software with minor tweaks. As it is cheaper for them to use the same computer/process rather than customizing for each model.

So doing an early oil change and resetting the service intervals can void the warranty? That is something new to me. Looks like unique to the German engineering

Not very smart to take your GLA for service to a place that doesn't know how to properly service it. Their lack of knowledge on how to reset the service reminders makes me wonder what else they don't know about your GLA and the factory updates they'll never receive. You shouldn't buy a vehicle that you're not then willing to send the money on to have it properly serviced. The money you save by going to a cut-rate service place will cost you more in the long run to undo the mistakes made at the cut-rate place. Not a wise monetary policy for you.
