Apparently, you have feelings of inadequacy surrounding your old man's education and his status, all stemming from his state university or correspondence school degree. I believe you were subsequently badgered about your own lack of education, intellect or understanding of very basic concepts....as you have revealed here. I know how those old farts have little regard for the subtleties of other's feelings...it is a very sad situation indeed.

So, through the illness you developed from feelings of inadequacy, you turn around and attempt to do the same to other people who blunder into your deranged path. Seeking to compare his education to other's, and in my case, failing to realize how superior I am to you both in EVERY possible way. You also don't seem to understand how irrelevant he is to this conversation, yet reference him frequently, and in a deeply disturbing way. Similarly, the lack of reference to YOUR OWN education/knowledge is the "tell", the key to diagnosing your affliction.

I actually feel sorry for you, and hope you either "get over it", or seek professional help in this regard. I suggest showing the therapist this conversation in it's entirety....but I fear it may be too late.

I truly pity the people around you.
Audie Junkie, there you go again with your personal attacks and name calling. This just showcases the weakness of your position. Your view that ethanol is the savior and the future couldn't be more wrong and you can't handle that truth. The more you post your deranged rants the more obvious it becomes to everyone that you know nothing about automotive engineering. It's long overdue for you to get the message that no one is buying your snake oil rubbish. Get lost.

Audie Junkie it's beyond obvious that you're not capable of having an intelligent discussion because you can't stand it when someone dares to disagree with you and confronts you with the actual facts that prove you're wrong. Game over. You need to move on.

You're the one with the problem and you're putting it on full display for everyone to see. All you can do is post name calling and personal attacks. Not once have you made any effort to comment on the issues that I've pointed out that shows how wrong you are. You're not capable of doing so. The actual facts don't support your snake oil salesman claims. You're not even able to get the message to stop your rants and move on from this thread. I find it very disappointing that moderators at MB World allow such offensive conduct by you Audi Junkie.

Once again, ethanol is not a long-term solution. The lack of supply of ethanol and the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is not enough of a reduction in the planet killing greenhouse gases to avert the catastrophic damage being caused by the burning of fossil fuels. My engineer father understood this and it's time for you to understand it.

Which is....wait for it....99% greasy slop.

So if you buy into this junk, I have some excellent investment opportunities for you. It may even revive the dead, but I am no motician.
Hydrotreated Naphtha...I used to do it for a living..I have owned quite a few high performance cars in my life...There is hydrotreated naphtha as a component in gasoline already..Don't ever recall adding any to a gasoline blend to enhance octane though..

I still lol when I read this. Not only the obvious fail of trading in your father's accomplishments and expertise, but not even understanding the subject in any rational way.

IN THE REAL WORLD, another E85 retailer opened locally, Sheetz. While 87 regular is at $3.59, you can get 88 octane E15 and E85 for under $3....pretty funny.

Normally it would be painful to watch someone so confused and biased about a simple subject, but I have no sympathy....afterall, his daddy was some half assed automotive engineer. What that has to do with current market and energy policy, I have no idea. All I know is that someone with such a crippling condition should not take advantage of any benefits of ethanol, not even the 10% in normal gas, and really shouldn't even own a own a gas powered vehicle at all. This person as a source of advice is a joke within a joke.
