GLA 2015 - Brake Pad Question

GLA 2015
GLA 2015 - Brake Pad Question
Hi there - I own a GLA (2015 plate). I have done 48,000 miles in it from new. My recent MOT says I need to change the brake pads. Would a light come on the dashboard when they need changing - this is what I was expecting. Nothing has come on and the brakes seem ok. I didn't want to get them done if it was not necessary yet.

Wear light should trigger at about 3mm. Until then, you should be OK. Pad thickness gauges are available for ~ $15 -- very useful.
