GLA Winter Wheels
There doesn't seem to be good winter tires that fit in the 19" sizes, specifically the Nokia Hakkapeliitta R2.
18x8 would solve my problems, so I could run 225/55/18 tire for wintertime use.
Of course you can run an 18" wheel; the CLA45 does, and they have the same brake calipers, rotors, etc.
Just be sure to find the proper offsets and make sure the wheels are 'Big Brake Kit' or 'Brembo' friendly. Then you just have to increase your aspect ratio on your tire (higher profile) to match your overall diameter of the smaller 18" wheel with that of the diameter of your OEM 19" or 20" wheel.
FYI you want a bigger side wall in the winter time for deep snow, if you go with 19s that is actually worse as your side wall profile is that much smaller. Its winter time, you don't need the performance of bigger rims...

Dont understand why wheel companies don't publish this.
i went to the tire shop where they had the 18 and it cleared the rotor but ugly, so i got an amg replica in 8x18 et 42 and it clears and looks good. Now i'm just not quite ready to give up the insane grip and handling of the summer contis

OE Performance 136 8x18 et 42 5x112 AMG Replica
My first choice was silver but i think these may be a discontinued item. I ordered up a black and silver one to fit and I liked it more so it worked out. There's also a chrome version out there but

Thanks!
I went with conti extreme contact dws 235 50 18 (all season because california) They were the closest in size to the stockers, within .4% circumference and diameter -. Tpms didn't connect so maybe tirerack has the correct part
The wheels came from ebay

I see you went with all season, but if you went with a winter tire what would you pick? I'm worried I'll pick the wheel combo and have something that won't fit.
Very very grateful for all your help in this thread!!!
those surveys on tire rack do help narrow down different qualities you might need in a tire, like ice traction etc. I'm in Ca so all seasons. If 20s and you want to go to 18 either 235 50 or 215 55 should work
this calculator helps, you plug in the stock #s on top and it will tell you how close a different size will be
