Carplay - wired or wireless?

A gaggle of MB's
Wired - for two reasons -
1) connected regardless if it's a 10 min drive or 10hrs - when you get to your destination you thru USB-C charging you ALWAYS have much more battery than when you started
2) "Wireless" CarPlay such as the BMW system uplinks your data to upriver Servers to do the work - which is their (ex BMW) excuse to charge you fee's - not only is MB a freak about personal data security not going upstream - but also that upstream design is (a) slower (b) subject to system attacks/failure
Think of the MB CarPlay system as the Energizer Bunny ... you'll "get" the analogy

As others have said, it’s only wired at this point. IMO, it’s crazy that BMW charges an annual fee to use CarPlay after the first year. As much as I think wireless CarPlay is a cool feature, I would be leery about the security issues as stated by fabbbrisd1.

BMW has gotten rid of the paid subscription. It’s now indefinitely free. They learned after they got so much back lash haha

Wireless AA and carplay connection is initiated via BT, but switches to wifi for the wireless capabilities due to bandwidth constraints.
