Price paid for a new 2020 GLB 4Matic
Recently I bought a brand new 2020 MB GLB250 4MATIC and thought I would like to share the price paid so others can have a basis for reference in negotiation.
My deal was during the COVID-19 PANDEMIC crisis where the car inventory is piling up across the country.
Our GLB 250 4MATIC has an official FACTORY MRSP sticker of $48XXX. Final negotiated price before tax/tag/other "official government fees" is $42XXX. This works out to be about 11% off the MRSP. I thought I could do better, but unable to push further.
I went with the deal bc with the COVID-19 PANDEMIC SPECIAL MB ZERO DOWN, ZERO PERCENT FINANCING X 36 months AND 90 DAYS DEFERRED FIRST PAYMENT, I thought it's a reasonable deal. Not to mention that the GLB is a brand new model and the demand will likely go up later on. The current inventory for the GLB is somewhat limited. The GLB we bought had literally came off the autotransporter truck with plastic and cardboard wraps.

Maybe EU is different vs US market.

I'm new to this forum and my wife is looking to trade in her current vehicle for a GLB 250 4Matic. Does Mercedes offer any finance rebate, lease rebate, or first-time Mercedes driver rebate? We checked out the vehicle at a local dealership and we are planning to shop around for discount.

There is a $1K discount for current MB owners.

I just randomly put in 90210 zip code to get price listings. I did see several dealers offering around 8 to 9 percent off MSRP.
Right now MAY NOT BE A GOOD TIME TO BUY bc across the board for NEW and USED cars the inventory is at an all time low. Back in March, April, and May..... inventory was much higher due to the initial shock of the pandemic. Back then very few people dared to go out and risk exposure. The show rooms were essentially closed except for the service department (even so at much reduced traffic). Almost ALL manufacturers offered SPECIAL incentives for both new and used inventory in an attempt to drum up sales traffic.
When we started to look into a new vehicle..... Lexus had NOT started the ZERO PERCENTAGE FINANCING deals. MB had a ZERO PERCENT FINANCING deal but was expiring April 30. Then MB decided to extend the deal to May. BMW had similar deals, but was at 0.9% as I recall.
So I researched using the above websites and went hunting for a GLB. At the time the MB dealership's lot was FULL of cars and I saw TWO semi trucks auto carriers unloading and had no place to put the new cars except onto the dirt lot next to the MB dealer! There were like at least 12 or so brand new GLB's on the lot. We test drove several across it's options range. We picked a middle of road loaded GLB. One feature we really wanted was the bigger dashboard display and the "augmented virtually reality GPS" where as we come to an intersection the front cameras will display"live real time" images of cars/traffic or whatever is in front of the vehicle. We thought this is really cool!!
We gave the dealer a "number" for the price of the GLB 4Matic we had picked out based on the above research. It was a rather low number. Of course the dealership said no can do. And wanted us to come up with our "offer". We did up it by ONE DOLLAR !!! And we were ready to LEAVE!! Remember, you have the power to do so. Of course, we got our deal + ONE DOLLAR!! LOL. Not so sure we can do it again now given the fact that we are on the wrong side of the supply and demand curve.
Maybe at the end of this year will be able to get a better deal? But you run the risk of not getting the GLB with the options you wanted. I think the GLB model will sell very well and therefore not much discounts.
Good luck

I just started shopping for a 2021 GLB 250 4Matic for my wife. A few dealers within the 15-20-mile radius are unable to tell me the MSRP for the 2021 model. Their computers don't have the numbers yet, and they should be available sometime by the end of September. One change in the 2021 model is the built-in front dash camera for recording. One dealer said that the wait time for a custom build will be at least 5-6 months, which is not a problem for my wife since we are not in rush. He said no 10% discount and then started telling me all those BS about Mercedes being a luxury brand and it's rare. I had bought a number of cars over the last two decades and those supply/demand/luxury tricks do not work on me. I will have multiple dealers to compete for my business; that's how I did it for my 2020 BMW X6. If you guys got 9-10%, that's what I will aim for. Thanks for sharing the information. You guys are the best.
I did a test drive today and I think the GLB 250 is fine for my wife with a Mazda CX5.

It is a legitimate charge that is made by the manufacturer on a lease. They are likely marking it up about $300 to get to the $1095. In some cases you may be able to negotiate it a bit.
The doc fee is a charge that is made by the dealer on every sale (both lease and purchase). An overwhelming majority of dealers charge them but the fees tend to vary by state (in terms of how much they will allow a dealer to charge). Most dealers would rather discount the car a little more rather than take one penny off their doc fee. Here is more on this subject (scroll down to the part about doc fees):

Someone else commented that these fees "sound like BS" but they are legitimate fees that the manufacturer and the dealers charge. You can argue that they are excessive or even unfair but again they are a reality.
