Digital Display not working
Just got in my GLB and the main digital display is completely black. Only the screen behind the steering wheel works. Mercedes Me is also not working. Any suggestions or am I looking at a service appointment?

The technician could not bring the screen back up quickly so I had to leave it at the dealer. Appears to be a computer system issue.

I had the same problem with my 2019 E450 Cabriole from the first time it was driven home new. The rear camera wouldn't turn on at the worst times but once it did it worked. This intermittent operation cause the dealer to say he can't fix it because it is working .... yech. It finally got worse and I found the problem. I also figured out the operation to some degree. After the car is stopped and the engine is turned off the computer seems to retract the camera even if it is closed. This makes the cover tighter to, I believe, prevent water leakage. It the camera mechanism isn't in position the camera won't turn on because, I believe, the computer thinks there is obstruction. An obstruction will prevent the camera housing from opening up. However, if the car is driven and stopped, or the ignition is turned off after being on for a while, the computer retracts the camera and it get into position again to be able to open. NOTE: This analysis may not be correct but that is the way it acts.
In my car the mechanism got worse and there was grinding noise coming from the camera for a short while after the car driving the car. This led to being able to diagnose the problem and I finally fixed it. I bought a new camera housing and was able to put the original camera, and reinstall it. I took the old housing apart and a very small piece of a nylon gear fell out. It was so small it was hard to find where on the gear it fit. Now it is working after weeks of use with no noise and 100% use of the rear camera. Below is a picture of the camera housing in my car that was replace.
The thing that bothers me the most is the dealer wouldn't look at the problem unless the camera wasn't working and I left the car there to see if they could reproduce the problem. I believe the problem is common enough he should have known, or identified the cause earlier when the car was new and in warranty. It didn't cost me much for the housing, at only about $125, but I had to diagnose the problem do the repair.
Camera housing removed from the 2019 E450 but commonly used in other models
