Conclusion: many appreciate both MB-Tex and leather. Leather mainly for appearance. MB-Tex is comfortable and durable. Leather looks nice and is comfortable. What do you think?

Some reviewers say the leather seats are too hard while others say the leather seats are fine. I haven't found any review comments on MB Tex front seat comfort. Hopefully I can do a GLB test drive with both types in a few weeks.

I love the MB-Tex seats on the GLE. Can't speak to the GLB but the MB-Tex and leather comparison should be directionally the same as other vehicles. The seat structure is the same for the two different coverings. Would you agree with that?

I would expect the seat structures to be the same although there could be some differences, particularly with ventilated leather which I'm considering. I hope to learn more on visiting the dealer.

I've sat in a number of A Class based vehicles with comfort mb-tex seats, Neva Gray mb-tex sport seats, mb-tex/dynamica, and leather. I generally prefer soft and less textured seats, and for my taste I've found the mb-tex feels the nicest, especially on the sport seats (neva gray or dynamica). It has about the same or slightly less texture and feels just as rich, and it's softer and more plush. Plus, it's cheaper and wears a ton better.

One thing to remember is that not all seats come in all colors. Depending on packages you may have to opt for leather just to get the desired color. I ordered a GLB with AMG package that limited me to two colors neither of of which I wanted so I had to go with leather.

I’ve had both, and while leather has a softer, more luxurious feel, MB Tex is very close in comfort. MB Tex is durable and easy to maintain, making it great for long-term use. Personally, I use microfiber leather fabric in some projects, and it bridges the gap nicely—offering softness like leather but with the toughness of synthetics.
