Question Did you cross-shop the GLC 300

Hi all,

I've had GLB 250 and GLC 300 loaners from my dealership, and I think I like the cheaper GLB 250 better! I think it does a better job at giving usable interior space, while still being a nice drive.

Did you cross-shopped the GLC when buying your GLB? If so, why did you end up with the GLB?

I blogged on loaner experiences here, if you're curious about my full thoughts:
* GLB 250 4Matic
* GLC 300 4Matic

I went GLB since it had the newer MB tech. I hated that bolt-on looking screen in the GLC. Just be careful with the options you find on the GLB. I assumed the whatever package my car has included XM radio, it did not. I went 4Matic as well.

2021 Glb35 AMG (2013 GLK 350)
I had a GLK 350 for 5 years and had GLC 300 / GLB 250 loaners from MB during maintenance/repairs. I think inside GLC might have better sound proofing and has rear wheel drive bias similar to GLK, but I didn't like the blind spots / inside space... GLC is designed for 6 cylinder vs GLB has 4 cylinder and shorter engine compartment and use its extra space for interior. GLB has a boxy open body similar to GLK which was a perfect fit for me with no adjustment period plus the updated tech with it... I wanted to keep the GLK HP so I went with GLB 35... I test drove X3 hybrid also, but GLB 35 was more sporty and better on the curves... X3 still has more old style buttons...

GLC 300 is in its last year for its model... New bigger body is coming out for 2023. It has the ipad touch screen from C series, not the long GLB lcd. Each model is becoming bigger eg GLE became bigger and new GLC might fill the size of older GLE... GLB is filling the size of current GLC...

That the GLC is growing and the GLB will fill its place is a great point that I had not thought about!

The 2021 GLC has the same MBUX as the GLB I drove, but yes, the screen still looks a bit glued-on.

Easy answer: Seating for 7.
We came from a GLK350 and the one thing lacking was seating space. We have 1 set of triplets and 1 set of twins. 5 seats always left us at least 1 seat short.
If we need luggage space we have a rooftop carrier.

How is it getting kids into the third row? Are you children old enough to climb in on their own, or are you stretching and stressing your back to get them in?

The twins are 6. With the “easy entry” seats moved all the way forward, they pop right in. If they were in car seats, they would have to be in the 2nd row and 2 of the bigger ones in the back. Or … we would have considered the used GLS more strongly.
