Oil change frequency?
Hello, new here as I bought a certified GLB250 couple months ago with 20k miles. Browsing the posts it seems that I only need to change oil every 10k miles or 1 year, I guess whichever comes first. Is that correct? If so, can someone explain how that’s possible? I’ve owned about 10 cars in my lifetime and every one of them advised changing oil every 5k or so as the most basic maintenance. Has MB figured out something that no other manufacturer has? Also asking cause the service docs that they provide give very little info. Thx.

Yes, oil change is every 10K or yearly. You can check the maintenance service sheet posted below:

Mercedes Approval 229.52
Mercedes Approval 229.61 or
Mercedes Approval 229.71.
Statements like “meets Mercedes specs” are not approved oils.
