Sending directions from phone to car.


How do I fix this ? Also this is my first time using such a forum. Be nice I searched on google and othe threads but didn’t find anything helpful.

Can you be a little more descriptive. What are you trying to do? What phone are you using? I’m on vacation and wouldn’t be back in my GLC for a few weeks, but the my iPhone will respond to carplay and the MB MBUX system has any number of responses? The iPhone will respond to Siri questions but not phone control commands like turn up my AC. That’s a MBUX command. The phone works well with any map apps Google, Apple, Waze. Also something both phone and MBUX need the built in WiFi which I don’t describe too.

I think Send to Vehicle works if Navigation is currently enabled in the GLB. Are the normal NAV functions working properly? If so, a call to the dealer or to the MBCA Mercedes Me number may be in order.

Try logging in the Mercedes Me Connect portal and see if things are activated properly.

yes I paid for the navigation package and from the Me Portal everything is activated. The navigation works, except the search is very limited. But I know I should be able to send. (I tried with my wife’s phone also, so I don’t think it’s a phone issue, using an iPhone. I know how to connect and use the apps from the phone google maps etc. but that requires a usb wire. Maybe I’ll just call the firm, i thought it would have been a simple fix.

You could also drop by your local dealership and ask your delivery specialist for assistance, since they were responsible of setting all this up for you in the first place.

It is not clear which Mercedes me connect service this is tied to. I don't see a specific service for this, so it must be tied to other navigation services, but if they are all enabled for your car, then I'm not sure why it would say it isn't activated. The one thing I had to do in my car was to authorize the Mercedes me connect app. After pairing the phone via Bluetooth, the COMAND system (I don't have MBUX) detected the Mercedes me connect app on my phone and prompted me if I wanted to authorize it. I'm assuming this step is necessary to receive destinations sent from the phone. Did you get such a prompt? I'm not sure if this is still necessary with MBUX.

Sending destinations to the car works in two ways. If you are away from your car, then the destination is sent over the Internet via the car's data connection. However, if you are already in the car and your phone has an active BT connection, then the destination is sent over BT directly to the car. Do you get the same message in both cases? I never had to activate anything special. I just activated all the Mercedes me services I was subscribed to, and then as mentioned authorized the Mercedes me connect app after being prompted by COMAND. It's worked ever since, outside of the occasional outage, but I was always able to send destinations at least via BT when inside the car, even if there was a Mercedes me connect outage at the moment.

Your screenshot didn’t show the 1st time I saw your post. But I too agree drop into the dealership. Canada and the US might have different specs.
