Annoying Noise from Rear Camera

My issue is not so much with the opening or closing but with a strange grinding noise at low speeds when the car goes over some road undulations, a speed hump, or a ramp opening. closing. As if there is something loose inside the boot door that is rolling around. I have applied some felt lining to the cover but while that has caused the noise to diminish a bit, it is still there. I have also ordered a silicone spra which I plan to apply with the rear camera engaged in the hope that it may lubricate the camera housing and see what effect it has on the noise. Shall share my observations when I complete this DIY.

Then I tried to figure out the rear Camera operates. There is an internal plastic cover over the actual camera that is actuated by a motor, and when it opens, the internal plastic cover also pushes out the external camera cover. Seems pretty straightforward - see the first couple of seconds of this video:
Rear camera motor operation
So I figured it could be that the internal camera cover fouls with the external camera cover and causes the noise, I had some felt lining lying around that I had picked up from Amazon
(no affiliation: ) to line the bottle holder area and glovebox. I applied 2 layers to the internal camera cover. Be sure to not have the car keys on you when you push the boot opening cover so that the boot does not open as you go through with the repair.
Next I also found that the top of the external cover is very close to the internal housing where it is supposed to go in. So I also applied the felt lining on the top of the housing to cushion the impact in case the cover could hit the housing when the car body would flex. This requires a bit of patience as the felt lining is flimsy and won't go in easily inside the small gap. So I only took of part of the backing paper and used a thin spudger tool to push it inside before taking off the rest of the backing paper and pushing it against the top of the housing.
Took the car out for a drive. Was pleasantly surprised with the results and also that such a simple fix could eliminate most of the noise. You could still hear the noise sometimes over the larger bumps though. Here is my summary of the fix using a simple QnA. YMMV.
Has the noise been eliminated completely?
No.
Can you hear it still?
Occasionally when going over a large hump or a parking ramp entrance/ exit where the rear suspension has to flex a lot, and only if you are paying attention.
How much has it reduced?
Considerably. Actually, to the point that it will no longer be your primary irritant anymore and you can truly start enjoying the car. Passengers will not even notice it. The only reason you notice is because you know.
Am I going to be trying anything more?
Not really except probably applying a little bit of silicone spray to make the hinges smoother. I believe this is the most one can do from the outside. The next step would be to open up the internal panel and apply more padding/ insulation from the inside. That seems to be a really tedious and laborious task, with the real possibility of broken tabs or clips and may end up causing rattles which are going to be even harder and more painful to eliminate. Best left to the dealership. Here is a video for reference:

I think the reason why it pops out is because PARKTRONIC is calling for it, for you to check surroundings when the sensor detects an obstacle nearby or when traffic light view is on or AR is on. not sure.
