Smile 21 GLB radio operation

Since I cannot get Sirius/XM in the GLB, I an using a USB memory stick. When I ask "hey Mercedes" to play a specific song, it will repeat that one song forever!
The only way I can get it to stop playing that song is to unplug the USB! I have tried to tell "hey Mercedes" to go back to random play, but that will not work.

How can go back to random play !

OR better yet, how can I get Sirius/XM in the GLB?

Thanks, dave

Sirius/XM should be no problem if you call Sirius or log onto https://www.siriusxm.com/ and sign up for one of their plans. You'll need your VIN or radio's serial number. I enjoy Sirius/XM on my GLB35 and on my 2 other Mercedes, plus enjoy streaming on my cell phone when I am away from my vehicles. I have one of the $24/month plans on my GLB and then $5/mo specials on my other two vehicles.

Do you not have a Sirius/XM receiver in your GLB? We don’t have the receiver in my wife’s GLB, so we have the internet subscription. Just log in on your smartphone and connect to the GLB’s audio via Bluetooth. Works great and if you don’t log out it will automatically connect when you start the GLB.

Thanks for the replies.

Ya, our model GLB doesn't have Sirius available. BUT I do have Sirius on my smart phone & I will blue tooth it to the GLB radio.

So, just for grins here, how to I get the memeory stick to go back to random play after playing a specific song?

Thanks again.

I’ve never used a memory stick. I have one with a playlist in it but it just sits in my sock drawer. I even used an iPod in my ‘13 C250. I must confess that I haven’t found “Hey, Mercedes” very helpful. Definitely not the equivalent of Star Trek’s “Computer.” But, then again, I’m not the equivalent of Captain Picard, either.

It’s been a couple of years, so more may be available now. When we looked into a Sirius/XM radio for our GLB, there were no fully integrated aftermarket units available. There were stand alone receivers that would install somewhere on the dashboard or under it. Those would require a separate antenna and associated wiring. They would feed the audio signal to the head unit, but would not be controlled by it.

Mercedes could retrofit the integrated Sirius/XM system but it was very expensive.

Connecting the smartphone via Bluetooth and using the internet subscription was the suggestion of Sirius/XM. If you would like to control the Sirius/XM app from the touch screen in your GLB, it also works by connecting the CarPlay/AndoidAuto wire then doing it that way. We just find the Bluetooth method more seamless because we don’t switch channels very often.

Good luck. Sat radio is so much better than OTA on long trips.

I think that would be very difficult. Can you buy SiriusXM service for your phone and then Bluetooth to your car radio?
