My GLC43 left Bremerhaven on 11/26 and arrived Long Beach 12/27. Looks like mine took the slow boat. Tracking the ship's journey was like watching paint dry. Many stops along the way and long waits at anchor to get into several small Central American ports. It was interesting, but I wouldn't do the tracking thing again.
Now just waiting for it to make the long journey to Portland, SA said it would be shipped here by rail, but I read somewhere that all shipments out of the LB VPC are by truck.
Your truck part of the trip didn't take long. Are you located close to LB?
Im in San Diego. It spent more time than I liked waiting for the truck to be assigned, but I was just anxious. Christmas was right in the middle of it all too. I LOVE my car. I've never felt this way about a vehicle before.
we are offering free inquiries to check your new car possible to activate CarPay via OBD2 port or not.

Mine has Feb date as well. Dealer told me March but I'd bet more on April.
My dealer says that my car is shipped 4 days back. Does anyone know if I can track the car using VIN number. I tried W&W att.2wglobal.com website with no luck. What carriers does MB use to ship the cars?
I am new to mbworld and ordered my first new Mercedes on 11/6/17. It was built on 12/5/17 and put on the ship Drive Green Highway about 12/23/17. The ship arrived at the Baltimore, MD on 1/7/17 and the car is currently somewhere between the Baltimore port and Allentown, PA. Dealer told me I should be able to take delivery sometime next week.
I ordered a
GLC 300W4 Selenite Grey with Silk Beige MB-Tex, Porcelain Headliner and Burl Walnut Wood Trim
18 inch 5 spoke wheels
Multimedia Package
Heated Steering Wheel and Front Seats
Premium Driver Assistance Package
Class II trailer Hitch
Chrome Door Handle Inserts
front and rear mud flaps
I did not order the panoramic sunroof because after having sunroofs for 40 years I found I no longer use it on cars with auto climate control. In addition the glass sunroof adds a lot of weight at the very top of the car and there have been reports of the glass shattering on a number of different makes of cars.
I also did not order the 360 camera because I was forced to accept the Parking Assist packages. I can still park my own car thank you!
I did not order larger wheels in hopes I will avoid the wheel shuttering issue.
So, I’m waiting anxiously for my first new Mercedes. I currently drive a 2009 ML350 I purchased when it was 3 years old. Now has 80,000 totally trouble free miles!

Ask him for the name of the ship and then you can use marinetraffic.com to track it. There are a bunch of carriers that MB uses. There's a post about all the different options from a few months back.
Finally, 5 days short of one year after placing our order, we took delivery of our 2018 GLC43 last week. Took a drive to the Oregon Coast to christen it and loved every mile of the drive, especially the distance keeping cruise control. The dealer gave us a very welcome discount in consideration of all the missteps in the fulfillment process. The MSRP was $74,090 and we paid $68,765 not including license, title, etc, a discount of over 7%. All is forgiven. Also not included is wheel, tire, windshield and paintless dent repair 5 year warranty we added for $1500. This coverage was only available at the time of the sale. We will be shopping around for the extended warranty and PPM.
Glad to have finally graduated from the GLC Waiting Room!

I have finally gotten word that my GLC Coupe is in production this week and will be shipped to America. How much longer do you think it should take now? Any suggestions? I also got my VIN and order number. Any word on how I can follow it?

Where in the US are you. This will determine which VPC it is going to. You can track your car by obtaining the Ships name from your SA from Netstar. You can then track using VesselFinder or FleetMon app. If your car is going to the east coast you should have it in approximately 4 weeks. West coast the cars go to Long Beach and will take 6 to 8 weeks. My car was manufactured on Jan 27 2016 in Bremen and I had it in Dallas on Feb 24 2016
It looks like it's not possible to find the shipping boat from the VIN number anymore
My sales representative told me they don't even have the boat name in they system in Canada (apparently named 180, different from netstar in the US).
I may just have to wait patiently for new from him directly...
I’m not sure this is the place to post my question but, how does a pre-order work? A dealer near me is pressing a bit to try to get me to put deposit down on the 2019 without pricing information. He is claiming that if I don’t do this now I will have a six month wait for my car. However I have no guarantee pricing and they’ll have my money. I don’t get it. Can anyone enlighten me?

Six months is BS. Mine took six months but I ordered in April, 2018 builds didn't start till June and it then sat at the vehicle processing center for another six weeks for some unknown fix that Mercedes will not tell us about. So, pre-order. The cost will be close to the current model. My price turned out to be within 400 of a 2017. Some options became stand alone and some features became standard. When you order, the dealer will have the codes for the options so you should compare them with what the 2018 options cost. You won't be able to compare apples to oranges but it will be close. Don't expect it to be thousands more. Best bet is to negotiate a percentage off list. You'll have to place a deposit (mine was 1000) which you lose if you don't want the car when it comes in but the dealer needs some protection in case you order one painted bright orange.

I was in this situation in early April of last year. I resolved it by offering to order the car today if they would agree in writing to a sell it at 8% below MSRP, whatever that number turned out to be, plus applicable fees and taxes. They countered at 4% off. I shopped around for a couple of weeks and was offered 6% off for an order. I took that offer back to my dealer and they agreed to match it.
Car was ordered in late April 2017. It was built in the the 1st decade of June, arrived in Baltimore on July 4, and I took delivery July 20. They honored the price without much trouble.
Thanks for the info and sharing of experience. I don’t think it will be a problem getting them to agree to 7.5% off MSRP based on previous conversations. So that’s what I’ll do. Now just need to finalize my choices of color and options!
