Last Friday we ordered a well optioned GLC. On Saturday the salesperson called to inform us MB had declined the order. Reason...hold on led headlights.

I asked what now? He informed me the dealership would, everyday, attempt to place the order. And they would continue to do so until the order was accepted.

Bummer!

 

Guess I will be cancelling that option on my order. Really liked the look of the Led headlights.

RR, Don't know badly you want the led option but I would not be in a big hurry to delete. Patients is a virtue. Moreover, at this point, no one knows how long the led light hold will last. My first order of business tomorrow is to query MB as to the expected duration of the problem. My game plan is to persist, at least a couple of weeks. After that will reevaluate.

Granted, don't drive much at night, but the led configuration is so much superior than halogen. At my age I need all the help I can get. lol

 

Frankly - what the "dealer" told you was not entirely correct.

At the time you did your "build" with your "dealer" - he should have (but did not) check in NetStar if any of the options you selected where showing "Critical" - meaning not available for the 10-day/decade production cycle.

The dealer should "check" - and let you know - BEFORE they submit the order.

Your dealer was sloppy - for that 1-day production window the feature the dealer shouldn't have ordered was confirmed not available - and the order was rejected.

Your dealer is sloppy and stupid - and best you understand that going foward.

 

Believe me in 40+ years in the work place I've encountered many many sloppy and stupid individuals/companies. The scary part is that many of the individuals were occupying senior positions far in excess of their peter principle.

Without getting into the finite elements of the proper procedure for ordering an MB the bottom line is I expect the dealership to deliver. I don't give a damm how they get it as long as they get it. And if this situation turns out to be poorly managed the senior principle will become very familiar with who I am.

I have a GLC with the LEDs. it's not just that they are cooler looking (which they way are) or that they are brighter (which they are) but they are "intelligent". they seem to know where you are going and the light arc, brightness, direction and shape changes according to a bunch of different real-time variables - including the weather.

 

I finalized my GLC order a few weeks ago but due to the LED lights (back-ordered) and the Black Ash Wood trim (also back-ordered) the production won't be until 1D Feb with delivery by late Feb/early March (hopefully no later). I went through the same thing with the last vehicle I ordered (2014 CLA) when the sports package was back-ordered. The wait was totally worth it for the options that we wanted though. Your dealer should have known well in advance if the order was going to be delayed/cancelled, be sure to get a good discount.

 

This afternoon I visited the dealer and spoke with my salesman and the gentlemen whose job it is to order all the dealership's cars.

The result was could expect delivery the first week of April 16.

A moment ago received a call from my salesperson. Delivery now scheduled mid February 16.

Am impressed as this afternoons discussion took place sans shouting, cussing ect. Amazing!!

OBTW, led headlights are included.

 

I had similar issues when ordering my GLC. If built in DEC no LEDs. Mine is being built in January. I am so glad you are getting what you want. I also had issues with the wheels I wanted.

 

Had tons of issues with LED's too, back ordered whatever looking at April, ordered Night+LED
